Live in West Bradenton & work in downtown Sarasota. I love your station, but the station doesn’t seem to come thru often. Lots of static or I have to turn the volume in order to hear the station.

  4. Nancy OBrien August 8, 2015 at 10:04 am

Love your radio station. We have been listening to it since it went on the air. The format is fantastic; everything from Sinatra to the Beatles and everything in between with no commercial breaks. We get the signal very well in the car and at our home which is near the airport. Keep up the good work – we love it. Hope you stay on the air.

  5. Paul O’Brien August 8, 2015 at 10:24 am

My wife snd I listen to your station everyday. Although the signal goes in and out day to day, the format and diversity of the music is so redreshing. I tel my students that love everything from ABBA to ZZ Top.

We love this radio station. Having a hard time getting clear reception in West Bradenton. Hope this will improve soon. The format is great….we especially love Doo Wop music and would enjoy hearing more of it along with Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Music from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s.

  7. Valerie Pantazis August 15, 2015 at 5:12 pm

My daughter is Broker/Owner of Club Realty which is going to sponsor a Fun-D-Day at Joan Durante Park here on the Key. We live adjacent to the Park, and feel a need to Improve certain aspects, plus study the possibilites of making a tidal pool area within the park; a refuge for manatees. We support Save our Seabirds, and hope to raise funds at our Fun-D Day for both causes. why do i write this?
we would like to feature your station as the music of which we will provide lyrics for a Fun Sing-along. If this sounds like a possibility please call me tom @ 941-376-7996, and I will further qualify our position.

    tom omalley
p.s. Fun-D Day will be every Wednesday (weather permitting); we hope to provide lyrics from 2pm-4pm for the Sing Along
    and Twist Contest.

By far the best station I have ever listened to. I need music around me at all times. I have traveled a lot of other places and no other station compares to The Beach. Thank you for not playing Debbie Boone this year.

    • WULB January 8, 2016 at 3:55 pm

Thank you for listening. I do have to warn you there is one Debbie Boone song in the playlist but it only comes up about 1 every few days…:)

    • WULB March 26, 2016 at 10:25 am

We have noticed the same thing too. However we checked our transmitting equipment and everything seems to be in order. We will continue to monitor.

  20. Mike March 26, 2016 at 10:19 am

Wow, for 100 watts up just a few feet, your signal gets out pretty well. With the radio in my Chev Malibu, I get you clearly anywhere on Anna Maria and in Bradenton. Hope you can keep it going. We’re only here for a month, but I’ll mark you on my TuneIn app when I get back home in Indiana.

    • WULB March 26, 2016 at 10:26 am

Thank you. All the water helps tremendously with the signal going further

  21. john macdonald April 1, 2016 at 7:06 pm

Are you planning going for a clear channel license? Hope so.. I lose you in parts of Bradenton along 41. Best station I’ve listened to! My soft music are the Everly Brothers, Doobies, All Dloowoop, 50’s stuff. A little early Elvis would be great also.

  25. Leon Moyer May 3, 2016 at 3:44 pm

Thanks so much for your station, which I receive on my boat near Lido/ Bird Key. All your music is easy listening which I like, maybe you could include some Beach Boys, CCR, you know, music from the 60’s to 70’s? Thanks again.

      • WULB May 25, 2016 at 12:04 pm

Thank you for your kind comments. The station is a labor of love. I can’t do much about the signal at this time, my power is limited by the FCC. You can always stream the station in at thebeachwulb.com

  27. Fran June 20, 2016 at 10:20 am

I have had jet lag since arriving from London UK and have been listening to The Beach all night, very night for a week. The play list is great!

  28. Paul King June 27, 2016 at 3:21 pm

96.3…WULB…The Beach… helping make LBK special.
Nice to hear Dylan on the air waves. Thank you.

  29. Danny June 30, 2016 at 10:18 am

Hi guys … what happened to my played file … I miss not being able to identify songs played … is there a new played list ???

    • WULB June 30, 2016 at 10:48 am

As part of our computer upgrades last week we had to move to a new streaming service. While the streams are better audio quality, the history log is not currently available. If they add that option, we will too.

Thank you for your continued listening

  30. Sam Craig August 22, 2016 at 10:39 am

Love the music! The best selection anywhere! The problem is the reception–full of static, signal not clear at anytime, going in and out. I live in Sarasota and it happens in the house and the car. Is there anything I can do or buy for my Bose sound system, that can bring the signal in without static?? It’s so bad, I have to turn it off. I’ll do what I need to do. Please help!

    • WULB August 22, 2016 at 11:07 am

We are limited in power to what the FCC allows. We are currently at the maximum they allow for our over the air signal. A fm antenna may improve it in some but not all cases. I would suggest you stream the signal, you can do so at thebeachwulb.com

  31. James C. Dart August 26, 2016 at 7:24 am

I’ve been listening now to you exclusively for about 3 weeks. Your signal is interesting…I’ve only listened in my car. When I leave home in north Holmes Beach signal is almost unlistenable, lot’s of static. By the time I get to Manatee bridge it has clear up quite a bit. In west B’ton your signal is best. Especially around Blake Hospital. Picked you up clearly all the way to 14th Street West & Cortez. I’d guess you transmit from closer to south LBK.

Your programming is still not exciting me too much. Ohh it’s OK, but still the same old die-a-dozen, usual suspects. You seem to have combined an Oldies format with an Easy Listening (Music of your Lives) format. Your station would light me up if they had some Classic Rock too and Folk & Country choices…Folk means more than an occasional Dylan song. Seniors like myself (I’m 68) have grown up with the music of the Rock Era and that is the basis of my taste but very much enjoy all formats if chosen and placed well. Don’t be afraid of doing something never done before.

It appears you have your songs programmed to play till about 2 or 3 seconds from the end of songs…That doesn’t always work, smoothly. It would have a better sound (in my opinion) with a 1 to 2 second gap between each song. Hey your non-commercial…what’s the rush.

I commend you for you work and I will still listen…..a little.

Remember…….Folks born in 1941 have spent their entire high school years in the Rock and Roll Era. They all turn 75 this year. Don’t be timid in rockin’ the station more. Yes I’m suggesting a rock & roll station geared towards seniors. You’ve taken some of the steps towards it.

    Good Luck

    James C. Dart

  32. Ed Brochu August 27, 2016 at 4:44 pm

I love your music choices ,please don’t change a thing. I live in the middle of 75th st. W, just on the main land in Bradenton. Some days I can’t receive you at all, others just barely, but I always try. Is there anyway I can buy some CDs of your music , for the days I can’t get you??

    • WULB August 27, 2016 at 6:29 pm

Thank you for your listening. The over the air signal can be effective by the weather. On days that you can’t pick up the signal you can always listen to the stream at thebeachwulb.com

  33. Sky August 28, 2016 at 5:26 pm

I am in Sarasota and the 96.3 does not play this music. Where do you receive this station? Do you have to be right on Longboat key to pick it up? They use to have many good stations and a couple of oldies stations, a big band station, easy listening with instrumental, good songs you don’t normally hear in this area and coming from Tampa or St. Petersburg. Now all that is on the radio is about four or five country stations that play the same 20 songs it seems, Christian Songs are good and classical, but the rest, hard rock or music from the 90’s to now which I don’t listen to. They may be talented artists, but the music composition and lyric writing does not do their voice justice and rap and hip hop is NOT music and should have NOT been allowed on the radio. There are also a couple of Mexican stations and AM recently had an easy listening station and a 40’s, 50’s (WTMY) and one went to talk and the other to Mexican. What is happening? I cannot believe the bad quality of the radio stations and the selection of songs they play, not enjoyable at all. It is sad that they format their stations to only certain people, not everyone likes that terrible rock, head banging music, nor do you listen to that when your older. I wish someone would bring back those stations. The people who live in this area know what I am talking about. Especially Sarasota where it is all about arts and culture. Things are suppose to get better with time, not worse.

  34. Christina August 30, 2016 at 8:00 pm

Love your music, please keep it going. After finding it I never had another station on at home so this is my station. Just a shame it won’t go farther in the car.

    • WULB August 31, 2016 at 3:55 am

Thank you for listening. The signal is best that is currently allowed by the FCC. I will request more power if and when they allow it.

  35. Tom Skora September 11, 2016 at 6:24 pm

We’re from up in DeKalb, Il and love the oldies. We recently purchased a little place in LongBoat Key and feel right at home with your station. Not a bad song throughout our week here! Thanks so much to adding to the great experience at LBK.
    Tom and Rorry

  36. Sam Craig September 20, 2016 at 11:32 am

I totally agree with Sky from Aug. 28. I still love your music playlist and still have great difficulty with lot’s of static at home on my Bose system, I live in Sarasota. Can’t pick it up in the car at all. Hopefully your signal get’s stronger!!

    • WULB September 20, 2016 at 12:44 pm

Thank you for listening. Unfortunately I’m am limited in power by the FCC so the further you are from Longboat Key the more challenged the signal is. If they increase power limitations, I’ll be the first in line for an increase

  37. Christina October 6, 2016 at 11:31 am

Your station was still on all the way in to downtown Bradenton the last couple of days and also around 59th St. Great, thanks

  38. Don Dolezal December 29, 2016 at 8:54 pm

    where have you gone

    • WULB December 29, 2016 at 9:25 pm

We are doing some maintenance work. We will be back on air by January 3rd

  39. keith wirewaffle January 29, 2017 at 1:57 pm

Just started to listen to yourstation on my Internet Radio here in Henley on Thames UK. Good quality web stream. Good oldies but your request list seems a little limited. No Fat Larry and Zoom, Gary Wright and Dream Weaver? No speech at present though maybe you are back to back music?

  40. Tim Smalley February 7, 2017 at 3:49 pm

Love your programming. Much more enjoyable than other local FM Blaster’s.

Note: to your web designer … Longboat is one word (not Long Boat).

  41. Tim Smalley February 7, 2017 at 3:50 pm

Love your programming. Much more enjoyable than other local FM Blaster’s.

  42. Gary D. Gross February 12, 2017 at 9:00 am

Your programming is greatly appreciated; brings me back sixty years to high school.
I’d like to start a similar station at my other home in the boonies somewhere outside Portland, OR.
I’d appreciate any direction you might offer.

  43. Vince Corrado February 26, 2017 at 10:20 am

Please add to the playlist Leon Russell ie Masquerade
    Allman Brothers ie Sweet Melissa
    Eric Clapton
    Roy Orbison
    Roy Book Binder

  44. Tim Smalley March 11, 2017 at 1:09 pm

My wife and I heard about your station from another baby-boomer Longboater. We love it! We will be streaming it at our lake cabin when we go back to Minnesota in May. It’s great there are no HUUUUGE commercials “For the people.” How can you do it without ads? Don’t you have to pay to play the music?

  45. Paul King May 9, 2017 at 3:18 pm

Keep the Dylan coming, please. Thanks.
    Paul King,
    LBK

  46. Pete June 10, 2017 at 7:06 am

What happened to the signal on your radio station? We can’t hear your station on an FM radio since last Wednesday.

    • WULB June 10, 2017 at 7:16 am

We had a piece of transmitter equipment break. We are waiting for replacement which should be in around June 22. We will start broadcasting again as soon as it’s installed.

  47. Jeanne Royal June 21, 2017 at 3:13 pm

Why are you off the air?

    • WULB June 21, 2017 at 4:33 pm

We had an equipment failure, a replacement has been ordered, should be back on air June 22
